Resource Development Coordinator

Linda Arnold-Lillibridge has a BA in Education and MS in Human Resources/Counseling from Miami University, Ohio. Her life’s interests encouraged Linda to continue her education, where Linda embodies what it means to be a“life-long learner.” Her stop at Steepletown on this epic journey is because she knows there is a lot of positive change that happens daily in people’s lives here at Steepletown.

AARP Senior Employee-In-Training

Pam Arrington started at Steepletown earlier this year as an employee-in-training through AARP’s Senior Community Service Employment Program. She has worked most of her life, mostly in the nursing field for 23 years. After a few years off she decided to go back into the workforce through AARP. Her primary role is overseeing the client contacts for Steepletown’s lawncare service.

Executive Director

Dick Bulkowski was part of the core team that launched Steepletown in 1993. He currently serves as the Executive Director. Dick has his MA in Theology from the Oblate School of Theology which focused significantly on community development. Dick served as a Kent County Commissioner for 10 years representing several urban core neighborhoods of Grand Rapids.

Preschool Director

Benjamin Cannon will begin his third year with the preschool team this fall. He spent his first two years as a teacher in the four year old classroom, and will begin this school year as Director. Benjamin graduated from Creston High School and with honors from the University of Toledo with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Upon graduating he returned home and assisted Immanuel St James in their early childhood classrooms.

Chef Karen is the Co-Director of Kitchen Sage with 27 years of culinary experience. She is primarily responsible for overseeing the preschool meal production where she guides aspiring culinarians on batch cooking techniques and beginning kitchen etiquette and skills. She currently serves on the academic Advisory Board for the Culinary Institute of Michigan & serves as the Diversity Chair for the American Culinary Federation.

Larissa Hoezee will be starting her fourth year with Steepletown as a lead teacher in the preschool program. She has taught in both the three year old and four year old classrooms. Larissa graduated with highest honors from Cornerstone University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education as well as minor in Early Childhood education with a ZS endorsement (General and Special Education).

AARP Senior Employee-In-Training

Bernard Martin worked for many years at Consumers Energy, starting off as a meter reader and ended his career there as a journeymen line worker. He then went to GRCC where he earned his Associates in Business Management and Supervision, and furthered his studies in Business Administration at Ferris State. He currently works at Steepletown through AARP’s Senior Employment training program. He likes working with the young men of JobStart to help them improve their lives and reach their goals.

Clifford started at Steepletown earlier this year as an employee-in-training through AARP’s Senior Community Service Employment Program.  He brings a lot of experience working with the public through his many years of sales and customer service. He has an AA in Business from Montcalm Community College. Clifford’s philosophy of turning a negative into a positive gives him the right attitude for helping those who come to Steepletown.

Chef Justin Stermin’s passion for the hospitality industry and the dedication to teach culinary education to future chefs is who he is. Chef Justin is a certified ServSafe Instructor & registered ServSafe Examination Proctor Through the national restaurant Association. Chef Justin currently holds a position on the advisory board for the culinary institute of Michigan. He also holds a position as the secretary on the greater Grand Rapids ACF board.

Meredith Vedder is one of the Tulip Room teachers at the preschool, working with the two year olds. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Learning, with a minor in American Sign Language. Upon graduating college, Meredith taught pre-kindergarten for two years before coming to Steepletown to work with the two year olds.

Toni Wolford

Preschool Lead Teacher

In December of 2016, Toni Wolford graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development. She also became a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE).  During college, Toni interned and worked at a few different preschools and a domestic violence shelter  She joined the Steepletown team in August of 2017 as a 3-4 year old preschool teacher.

Youth Advocate

A native of Minnesota, Jane Wolterstorff earned a BSW from Dordt College in Sioux Center Iowa. Her professional career of more than 30 years has been dedicated to front-line work with teens and young adults. At Steepletown, Jane is one of the Youth Advocates in the GED/Workforce Development Program. Jane has traveled the world, spending significant time in Russia as a member of a church planting team.

Emilio started at Steepletown nine years ago as GVSU undergraduate intern, was hired as a youth case manager, and is now the Workforce Development Director. His personal mission is to empower youth and young adults to pursue their academic and professional goals. Emilio puts his passion into practice through advocacy, community engagement, and education.
